Veritas Education is working with primary schools across Blackburn and Darwen seeking a confident and capable Level 6 Teaching Assistant to deliver pre-planned lessons across both KS1 and KS2. This role involves leading classes in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring continuity of learning using work that has already been set. It is well-suited to someone who is comfortable taking responsibility for the classroom and can maintain a focused and positive learning environment.

Applicants should have:

  • A Level 6 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • At least 6 months of classroom experience
  • Experience working across both KS1 and KS2
  • Confidence delivering lessons and managing whole-class behaviour
  • A proactive, organised, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow lesson plans effectively

The role will include delivering lessons, managing classroom behaviour, supporting pupils' understanding of tasks, and providing feedback to teaching staff. There may also be elements of general classroom support when required.

  • All applicants will undergo an Enhanced DBS Check, reference checks, and any necessary overseas police clearances (if applicable) in line with safeguarding policies.
  • Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment, including explanations for any gaps.
  • Legal right to work in the UK and willingness to attend a registration interview.
