We are seeking an ambitious, inspirational, and experienced Head of English to lead our successful English department at a thriving secondary school in the Thamesmead area. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate English specialist with a strong track record of raising attainment and delivering outstanding teaching across Key Stages 3-5. The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader committed to academic excellence, curriculum innovation, and ensuring every student develops a love of literature and language.
The Role
- Lead and manage the English department across KS3, KS4, and KS5
- Drive high standards of teaching, learning, and achievement
- Develop an engaging and ambitious English curriculum

The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A degree in English or a related subject
- Proven experience teaching English at KS5
- Strong leadership or middle leadership experience within a secondary setting
- A track record of improving outcomes and student engagement
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
