Barking and Dagenham, North London

As a Behavioural Support Mentor, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome social, emotional, and behavioural challenges that may be affecting their education. Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and families, you will provide targeted interventions, build positive relationships, and support the development of students' emotional resilience and self-regulation skills.

Behavioural Support Mentor Role:

  • Work collaboratively with teachers to manage behaviour in the classroom
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to relevant staff
  • Help students develop coping strategies, self-esteem, and motivation
  • Act as a positive role model and advocate for students
  • Liaise with external agencies where necessary to ensure a joined-up approach to support

Behavioural Support Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH needs
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and restorative practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent under pressure
