We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Upper Key Stage 2 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Accrington from 23rd February 2026. This role is ideally suited to an experienced teacher with strong Year 6 knowledge, who is confident in raising attainment and supporting pupils through targeted intervention work.
The Role
- Mornings: Deliver targeted intervention sessions for Year 6 pupils; Focus on closing gaps in learning and preparing pupils for end-of-key-stage assessments; Use assessment data effectively to plan and deliver high-impact support.
- Afternoons: Teach foundation subjects to Year 6; Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons in line with the National Curriculum; Promote creativity, enquiry, and independent learning.
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Be a qualified teacher with QTS
- Have proven experience in Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge in English and Maths intervention
- Have a clear understanding of assessment, progress tracking, and pupil outcomes
- Be confident managing behaviour and maintaining high expectations
- Be committed to inclusive practice and supporting all learners
- Work effectively as part of a team and communicate well with staff and parents
