Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a one-to-one basis? Do you have the skills to provide tailored support to help children achieve their full potential? If so, Veritas Education is looking for a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Kirklees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to a student with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring their individual learning and social development needs are met.
  • Assist the classroom teacher in creating a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Implement tailored strategies and interventions to support the child\’s learning, behaviour, and emotional development.
  • Help the child to engage with classroom activities, promoting independence and positive self-esteem.
  • Build a positive and trusting relationship with the child, acting as a role model and mentor.
  • Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and parents to ensure effective communication and progression.
  • Maintain accurate records of the child\’s progress and development.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, preferably working with children with SEN.
  • A good understanding of Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, or learning difficulties.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude towards supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare or education are desirable but not essential.
  • A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to obtain one.
