Veritas Education is working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Wakefield to recruit a dedicated and inspiring Music Teacher. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to join a supportive department and contribute to a vibrant performing arts culture within the school. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a broad and engaging music curriculum, while encouraging participation in extracurricular activities such as ensembles, choir, and school productions.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality Music lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
- Inspire students of all abilities to develop their musical skills and appreciation
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies
- Contribute to the development of schemes of work and curriculum planning
- Lead or support extracurricular music activities, including performances and events
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment in line with school behaviour policies
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching Music within a secondary school setting
- Strong subject knowledge across practical and theoretical Music
- A passion for engaging young people through creative and innovative teaching
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
