Teaching Assistant at a vibrant Secondary Alternative Provision, working with students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a calm, compassionate approach who wants to support young people in overcoming barriers to learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups with their learning and emotional regulation
- Working closely with teachers and support staff to implement personalised strategies
- Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in and out of the classroom
- Helping students to build confidence, self-esteem, and independence
- Assisting with the preparation of learning resources and classroom organisation
- Providing pastoral care
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
- Previous experience supporting students with SEMH needs (preferred)
- A resilient, patient, and nurturing personality
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
