Veritas Education are working in partnership with a number of supportive and well-regarded secondary schools across East Lancashire to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of Drama, with the ability to teach some English, for a September start. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative practitioner who can inspire confidence, expression and engagement through Drama, while contributing to English teaching within a collaborative department.

The Role:

  • Deliver engaging Drama lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Teach English at KS3 and/or KS4 (level dependent on experience)
  • Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum and exam board requirements
  • Support school productions, performances, or extra-curricular Drama activities where possible
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and purposeful learning environment
  • Work collaboratively within the Performing Arts and English teams

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • QTS / QTLS or an equivalent UK-recognised teaching qualification
  • A specialism in Drama, with experience or confidence teaching English
  • Experience teaching in UK secondary schools (ECTs welcome)
  • Strong classroom management and passion for the performing arts
  • A commitment to engaging pupils of all abilities
