We are seeking a hardworking team leader to join the Science department as a Senior Chemistry Technician at a secondary school in Westminster, central London.
The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of outstanding science practicals and lessons by leading a supportive team. You will also have some management of the department’s finances, stock, and ordering supplies, for which experience is ideal. You will also be required to support other science technicians and direct them in their duties accordingly.
You will innovate and introduce new systems to ensure the safety of staff and students, the effectiveness of your team, the organisation of resources, and effective use of the departmental budget. You will have relevant experience, a good understanding of Health and Safety within labs, knowledge up to GCSE/A-Level science lessons, and suitable science qualifications (for example, COSHH or a degree in science).
Requirements
- Science related degree (BSc/MSc)
- Experience within an educational laboratory setting – Schools or Colleges is preferred.
- Advanced understanding of scientific software/equipment and programmes used in education.
- Strong understanding of Safeguarding and professionalism within schools.
- Subject to References and DBS Check.
