About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, patient, and caring SEN School Driver to transport children and young people with Special Educational Needs to and from school safely and on time. This role is vital in ensuring our students arrive feeling calm, secure, and ready for their day. This is a varied, hybrid role that will involve a combination of responsibilities, including driving SEN children to outings and activities, as well as supporting pupils within the classroom in the capacity of a Teaching Assistant.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport pupils to and from school, as well as to day trips and external activities, following a designated route and timetable
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all passengers at all times
- Assist pupils with boarding and leaving the vehicle where required
- Work alongside passenger assistants/escorts (where applicable)
- Support pupils within the classroom when not required for driving duties
- Assist teaching staff in maintaining a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment
- Maintain the cleanliness and basic upkeep of the vehicle
- Report any incidents, delays, or concerns promptly
- Adhere to all road safety laws and safeguarding protocols
