Veritas Education is seeking experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to support a range of primary schools across Rossendale. This role offers flexible supply work as well as potential long-term opportunities for the right candidates.
This is a varied and rewarding role for skilled practitioners who are confident delivering learning across the primary age range and stepping into the classroom in the absence of the class teacher. We are looking for individuals who can adapt quickly, take responsibility for learning, and make a positive impact from day one.
The Role
- Delivering pre-planned lessons across the school
- Working with a range of year groups from Reception through to Year 6
- Providing high-quality classroom support and leading learning in the teacher's absence
- Supporting pupils with a range of abilities and needs
- Working closely with school staff to ensure continuity of learning
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structured, pre-planned lessons confidently
- Support learning across EYFS, KS1, and KS2
- Lead classroom learning when required
- Deliver small group interventions and targeted support
- Support behaviour management and classroom routines
- Work with pupils with SEND and additional needs
- Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times
What We're Looking For
- HLTA qualification or strong equivalent experience in a similar role
- Experience working across primary school settings
- Confidence delivering learning across multiple year groups
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable Experience
- Experience covering whole classes independently
- Experience delivering interventions
- Experience working across multiple schools or on supply
