About the Role:

Veritas Education is delighted to be working with a lovely 1-form entry primary school in Lewisham to find an enthusiastic and passionate KS2 teacher to join their close-knit team starting in September 2025. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive and community-focused environment, where small class sizes (less than 20 children) allow for a more tailored and personal approach to teaching and learning.

The successful candidate will be working within the KS2 phase, with a focus on fostering both academic growth and personal development in an inspiring and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners within the KS2 age group.
  • Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where all students feel valued and motivated to learn.
  • Track and monitor students' progress, providing feedback to both children and parents.
  • Work closely with the SENCO and other staff to support children with additional learning needs, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and make progress.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a strong school community.
  • Encourage pupils to develop their social, emotional, and academic skills through a variety of teaching methods.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching within the KS2 age range (preferred but not essential).
  • A passion for working with primary-aged children and helping them achieve their potential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons tailored to the needs of each child.
  • Strong classroom management skills, with a nurturing approach to behaviour.
  • Willingness to contribute to the broader life of the school and engage with the local community.
