SEN Support Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools (Leeds)?? Leeds | ?? Full-time | ?? £90-£110 per day?? Start Date: September 2025
We are working with a number of vibrant and inclusive primary schools across Leeds seeking passionate and dedicated SEN Support Teaching Assistants to join their teams on a temporary-to-permanent basis.
About the Role:
As a SEN Support TA, you'll work closely with pupils with a variety of special educational needs, offering both 1:1 support and small group interventions. You will be supporting pupils in and out of the classroom, helping them access the curriculum and thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and group support to pupils with SEN

Support pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other complex needs

Deliver structured interventions using tools such as PECS and Makaton
-
Implement behaviour support strategies and set clear boundaries
-
Foster a nurturing, safe, and inclusive learning environment

Liaise with professionals including teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies such as social services

Encourage independence and personal growth for pupils from diverse and often disadvantaged backgrounds
What We're Looking For:

Experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting

Confidence in managing challenging behaviour positively and effectively

A nurturing approach with a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable pupils

Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with pupils and staff

Experience or willingness to learn PECS, Makaton, or similar communication methods
