We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and skilled Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school community in Preston. About the Role

As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers, SEN staff, and other support colleagues to deliver high-quality learning experiences. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Classroom Support
    • Assisting the class teacher with the planning and delivery of engaging and appropriately differentiated lessons.
    • Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning, provide targeted interventions, and help pupils make sustained progress.
    • Supporting pupils with literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum activities through well-structured guidance and clear explanations.
  • Support for Pupils
    • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and supporting their social, emotional, and academic development.
    • Delivering targeted support for children with SEND, following recommendations from the SENCO and external professionals.
    • Encouraging independence, resilience, and confidence in all pupils.
  • Classroom Environment & Organisation
    • Helping prepare learning materials, classroom displays, and resources to create an inspiring and purposeful environment.
    • Assisting with behaviour management strategies to promote a safe, calm, and respectful school culture.
    • Supervising pupils during transitions, breaktimes, and lunchtimes where required.
  • Professional Conduct
    • Maintaining strong communication with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
    • Demonstrating flexibility, initiative, and a solution-focused approach to challenges.
    • Upholding the school's safeguarding responsibilities and attending relevant training.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Holds a recognised Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Has experience supporting children in a primary school environment.
  • Is passionate about helping children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
