The role focuses on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment for students with a range of social, emotional, behavioural and mental health needs. The full-time role involves working with KS3 and KS4 students within small group settings, focusing on emotional well-being, academic development, personal growth and emotional regulation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and interactive teaching and learning.
  • Build strong and long-lasting relationships with students to help foster an inclusive and safe learning environment.
  • Create a nurturing learning environment across the classroom, to help learners develop independent skills, promote social development and encourage emotional regulation.
  • Encourage academic growth of key core subjects such as English, Maths, Science and PHSE.
  • Liaise with classroom support staff in managing behaviour across all learners, de-escalating crisis behaviour and implementing diversion techniques and strategies.

The applicant:

  • Experience supporting SEMH and at-risk behaviour needs.
  • QTS or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Knowledgeable around KS3 and KS4 curriculum.
