We are currently working with a secondary school near Cheetham Hill, Manchester, who are seeking an experienced School Business Manager to join their team on a temporary basis, with the strong potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and organised professional with proven management experience within a school administration setting to support the strategic and operational running of the school.
Role Details
- Hours: 37 hours per week
- Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
- Contract: Temporary (with potential temp-to-perm)
- Holiday Entitlement: 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily management of the school's administrative and support functions
- Manage and support administrative staff, ensuring effective workflows and high standards
- Lead on finance, budgeting, and resource management in line with school policies
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and statutory requirements
- Work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to support school operations
- Maintain effective systems for HR, premises, and procurement
Person Specification
- Have strong management experience within a school-based administration environment
- Demonstrate excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills
- Be confident managing budgets, systems, and staff teams
- Have a proactive, solution-focused approach and the ability to work independently
