Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with additional needs? We are looking for a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in Greenwich, supporting pupils across Primary and Secondary phases.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who thrives on building meaningful relationships and helping pupils overcome social, emotional and behavioural barriers to learning.
The RoleAs an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs
- Support pupils with emotional regulation, engagement and behaviour
- Build positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence and self-esteem
- Use de-escalation strategies and proactive behaviour management approaches
- Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals
- Help maintain a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
- Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs or challenging behaviour (education, PRU, youth work, care or similar settings)
- Strong behaviour management skills and emotional resilience
- A calm, empathetic and patient approach
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people
- Availability to commit full-time from next term
- A supportive and experienced SEN leadership team
