The Role: As a Science Technician, you will provide essential support to the Science Department, ensuring that lessons and practical activities run smoothly and effectively. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for science to play a key part in delivering high-quality education to students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up science experiments, demonstrations, and equipment for lessons.
- Organize and maintain the science laboratories, ensuring all health and safety regulations are followed.
- Assist teaching staff with the creation and storage of resources and teaching materials.
- Provide technical support and advice to both students and teachers during practical lessons.
- Maintain stock levels of chemicals, equipment, and resources, and reorder supplies as necessary.
- Ensure the safe storage and disposal of materials in compliance with health and safety guidelines.
About You:
- We're looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual who holds a Science Degree or other relevant qualification.
- Lab based experience, ideally in a school.
- Has strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Can work effectively as part of a team and communicate well with staff and students.
- Demonstrates a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety.
- Previous experience as a Science Technician is desirable, but not essential.
