Veritas Education are working with a number of complex needs settings within the Leeds area, looking to recruit school medical support staff members. In this pivotal role, you will work across the school and different classes, supporting both the education and the medical/care needs of the student.
Previous experience of the below job requirements is essential:
- Experience supporting Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities across children and young adult age groups.
- Comfortable supporting with personal care, assisting with hygiene support and changing.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding in best care and practice when supporting neurodevelopmental, physical and medical needs.
- Be able to support all learners and meet their needs in line with their EHCPs and care plans.
- Confident in delivering appropriate and professional care when supporting a range of complex learning, physical, care and medical needs.
- Previous experience working with a range of learning needs is crucial to this role, such as supporting Autism, Aspergers, Down Syndrome, Communication and Sensory needs.
- Be willing to develop skills and training around higher level medical care, such as peg/tube feeding, hoist usage and other medical based training.
- Show pro-activity and enthusiasm in delivering the best care possible to the learners, and help them access all aspects of their education whilst in school.
