Veritas Education are working with a college setting within the Leeds area who are looking for a maths teacher/Maths lecturer to start as soon as possible. The role will be a medium length contract, on a part time basis (3 days per week), initially for 6 weeks, with the possibility to extend till Easter 2026. The college setting supports a range of students from 14+ age groups, where alongside functional skills and practical learning, they ensure all students complete their maths GCSE as a minimum requirement.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for foundation level, GCSE and A-Level maths teacher cover, with allocated PPA time across the role.
- Ensure lessons are planned, prepared and delivered at an appropriate level to the class being taught to maintain student engagement and academic progress.
- Follow classroom management and behaviour policies, to ensure a safe, inclusive and undisrupted learning environment for students to thrive in.
- Mark and assess completed work for all classes, providing appropriate feedback and constructive feedback on where students can progress and improve.
- Be confident delivering engaging lessons to a range of different age groups and abilities.
Qualifications
- All applicants must hold a valid QTS and have direct experience teaching maths across GCSE and A-Level too.
