We are currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a welcoming primary school in Morecambe, working within a Year 5 classroom. This role involves a mix of general classroom support and one to one / 1:1 support, helping pupils to access learning and engage positively in lessons. The role is to start as soon as possible until the end of the academic year.
The role includes:
- Supporting teaching and learning within a Year 5 primary classroom
- Providing 1:1 / one to one support for a pupil with additional needs
- Offering behavioural support, including support with autism and ADHD
- Working closely with the class teacher to support lesson delivery and classroom routines
- Supporting pupils socially, emotionally and academically
- Lunch duty is required as part of the role
Working hours:
- 6 hours per day
- Monday to Friday
- Term time only
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar support role
- Be confident supporting pupils with additional needs, including autism and ADHD
- Be calm, patient and consistent when providing behavioural support
- Enjoy working in a busy primary classroom environment
- Be committed, reliable and passionate about supporting children's learning
