About the Role
Veritas Education is currently recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 class at a friendly and supportive primary school in Lancaster. This is a long-term opportunity, starting immediately and continuing into the next academic year, for someone passionate about supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Working with small groups of pupils to support learning across the curriculum
- Providing behaviour management support in line with school policies
- Supporting phonics sessions and early literacy development
- Delivering targeted interventions to help pupils make progress
- Providing one-to-one support where required, including pupils with additional needs
- Supporting the class teacher with classroom activities and preparation
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children in a primary school setting (Year 3 / KS2 desirable)
- Confidence in supporting behaviour management positively and consistently
- Knowledge or experience of phonics and intervention programmes
- Patient, caring, and able to build strong relationships with pupils
- Reliable and able to commit to 09:00-15:00, Monday to Friday
