Veritas Education is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive Primary School in Lancaster for a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support their Nursery Class. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HLTA or Early Years practitioner who is passionate about supporting young children during the crucial early stages of their education.

Position Details

  • Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Nursery Class
  • Location: Lancaster
  • Start Date: September 2026
  • Hours: Thursday afternoons, Fridays (full day)
  • Contract: Part-time, term-time only
  • Sector: Primary Education / Early Years

The Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the Nursery team to provide high-quality learning experiences, support children's development, and help create a nurturing and engaging learning environment. Duties may include leading small groups, supporting planned activities, covering lessons where required, and contributing to children's progress and wellbeing.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • HLTA status or equivalent relevant qualifications/experience
  • Previous experience working within an Early Years or Primary setting
  • A strong understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive, proactive and flexible approach
  • A passion for helping children achieve their full potential
