Veritas Education is recruiting an experienced and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to support students within a Secondary SEMH school in the Kingston area. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour management
- Assist students with engagement in learning and classroom activities
- Work closely with teachers, pastoral and SEN teams
- Build positive, consistent and trusting relationships with students
- Support students during transitions and unstructured times
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour
- Calm, patient and resilient approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Background in education, care, youth work or similar is highly desirable
- Strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
