The Role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, teaching Humanities subjects such as History, Geography, and/or Religious Studies (subject specialism welcomed). The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to raising attainment and fostering a love of Humanities within a diverse and inclusive school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative and well-structured lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress effectively
  • Differentiating teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND
  • Contribute to curriculum development within the Humanities department
  • Maintain high expectations of behaviour and achievement in line with school policies
  • Engage fully with the wider school community, including parents and carers

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Humanities in a UK secondary school setting (placements considered for ECTs)
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Humanities education
  • Excellent classroom management skills
