Job Description

Job Title: English Outreach TeacherLocation: Hillingdon Borough, West LondonContract: Full-time / Term Time OnlyStart Date: SeptemberSalary: £180 – £220+ per day (Depending on qualifications and experience)

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated English Outreach Teacher to deliver 1:1 and small-group tuition to students unable to attend school for medical reasons. Sessions will take place in local libraries across the Hillingdon borough.

The ideal candidate will have strong skills in positive behaviour management, proven experience supporting students with SEMH and SEN (both diagnosed and undiagnosed), and a commitment to re-engaging learners through creative and personalised teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Support students with SEMH and SEN to develop confidence and achieve academic goals.
  • Use positive behaviour management strategies to promote engagement and participation.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and safeguarding concerns.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable.
  • Current UK driving licence and access to a car.
  • Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4.
  • Experience working with SEMH and SEN students.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.
