We're looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 11-19 years with special educational needs, including SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties) and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties), alongside associated social, emotional, and learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about inclusive education and supporting young people with complex needs to thrive.
SEN Teaching Assistant Role:
- Supporting pupils with a range of SEN, including SLD and PMLD, as well as SEMH and additional learning needs
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual needs and abilities
- Assisting with personalised learning programmes, care plans, and sensory-based activities
- Supporting communication, engagement, and emotional regulation
- Working closely with teachers and therapists to maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Building positive, trusting relationships to promote confidence, independence, and wellbeing
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- A genuine interest in supporting children with complex and profound learning needs
- A patient, calm, and proactive approach
- Experience supporting pupils with SLD and/or PMLD (desirable but not essential)
- Manual handling, personal care, or sensory support experience (preferred)
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable)
- Ideal for aspiring SEN Teachers, Educational Psychologists, Therapists, or Health & Social Care professionals
