Complex Needs Support - Leeds
Veritas Education are currently working with SEN based schools in the Leeds who are looking to recruit complex needs assistants, confident in supporting children from ages 5-19 with high level needs and PMLD. (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities).
The school:
The setting supports learners from 5 to 19 years old, with special education and complex needs. The learners attending the school have a variety of different needs, including Autism, Down Syndrome, Communication Needs (Verbal and Pre-Verbal), PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities) and medical/mobility needs too.
Across the setting, the school provides a variety of different ability classes for all children, coping and managing their needs to help them access their education to the best of their ability. The school has fantastic facilities to meet the needs of all children, along with a staffing team who are dedicated, passionate and caring when it comes to providing the best life and access to education for the learners attending the school.
The Role:
The role is to support all learners across their school day, during their lessons and throughout their day-to-day timetable around the school, whether that be in the classroom or in other areas, such as playgrounds, lunch areas or in physio/medical sessions!
For both the TA role and the care support role, staff will need to be comfortable supporting learners of all age groups at times, as the school requires you to be flexible when it comes to supporting different learners in different classes and sessions. You will help support the learning throughout the day and support the care of the needs of the children, whether that is through supporting nursing/physio-based staff in medical support, or with personal changing.
Requirements:
- Previous Care or Complex Needs experience
- Moving and Handling Trained (In date/certificate proof - This would be ideal to have)
- Comfortable supporting Special Education and Complex Needs
- Comfortable supporting with personal care for ages 5-19 years old
- Enhanced DBS on the update service
- Supportive, Caring and Nurturing personality
- Reliable and passionate
