We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join a specialist provision in Chorley, supporting students aged 13 and above with sensory needs. The successful candidate will deliver a tailored, engaging curriculum that meets each student's unique learning requirements, fostering independence, confidence, and a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons across core and foundation subjects for students with sensory needs
- Support students' individual EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
- Create a structured, inclusive, and sensory-friendly learning environment
- Assess, track, and report pupil progress effectively
- Collaborate with TAs, SENCOs, and external professionals to meet student needs
- Promote students' social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Adapt teaching approaches to suit varying abilities and sensory requirements
Requirements
- QTS/QTLS (essential)
- Proven experience teaching secondary-aged students with SEN, particularly sensory needs
- Strong understanding of conditions such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and sensory processing differences
- Ability to deliver lessons across multiple subjects and adapt teaching methods effectively
- Calm, nurturing approach and excellent classroom management skills
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
