We are seeking a compassionate, proactive and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated specialist team in a well-established SEN school in Bradford. This role focuses primarily on supporting pupils within our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), many of whom have complex learning needs, communication differences, sensory needs, or developmental delays.

About the Role

As part of our EYFS team, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing, structured and engaging learning environment. You will work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver personalised learning experiences that help each child develop communication, independence, social interaction and early learning skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, child-centred support to pupils with a range of SEN needs
  • Implement individual support strategies and contribute to the graduated approach
  • Support children with communication, sensory regulation, play-based learning and early literacy/numeracy
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
  • Assist with personal care routines where required
  • Create a safe, calm and inclusive classroom environment
  • Build positive relationships with families and contribute to progress reviews

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with SEN pupils, ideally in EYFS
  • A nurturing, patient and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Understanding of early childhood development
  • Knowledge of autism, speech & language needs, sensory processing or developmental delay is highly desirable
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training (e.g., PECS, Makaton, sensory integration approaches)
