Behaviour Mentor – SEMH School – Orpington, Bromley

Daily Rate: £100-£120 (Depending on Experience)Start: ASAP | Full-Time | Long-Term

We are working with a highly supportive and forward-thinking Primary & Secondary SEMH school in Orpington (Bromley) who are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their outstanding team.

The Role:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you'll work closely with students across both Primary and Secondary phases who need additional emotional and behavioural support. You'll be a consistent, calm presence, helping students manage their behaviour, engage with learning, and build resilience.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups with behaviour and emotional regulation

  • Assisting in delivering tailored interventions to meet individual SEMH needs

  • Helping to maintain a safe and positive learning environment

  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff to implement behaviour strategies

  • Building strong, trusting relationships with students and acting as a positive role model

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs

  • Resilience, patience and a calm, consistent approach

  • A genuine passion for inclusion and making a difference

  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Previous Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant or Youth Work experience

  • Team Teach or similar de-escalation training

  • Interest in progressing towards teacher training (QTS support available!)
