Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a degree and a passion for supporting young people? A supportive and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Barking & Dagenham is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from now until the end of the academic year, with the strong possibility of extension into September 2026 for high-performing candidates.
The Role
- Support students with SEND across KS3 and KS4
- Deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions tailored to individual needs
- Adapt learning resources in collaboration with teaching staff
- Assist with behaviour support and promote an inclusive, positive environment
- Work closely with the SENCO and wider support team on student support plans
- Build strong, professional relationships with students, staff, and parents
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a UK school setting
- A degree in any subject
- Experience supporting students with SEND, such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, SpLD or speech & language needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, resilient, and proactive mindset
- Confidence supporting learning within a busy secondary environment
