The Role

As SENCO, you will play a key role in shaping the provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure every child achieves their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the school’s SEND provision
  • Identify and assess pupils with additional needs
  • Develop and implement effective support plans (EHCPs, IEPs)
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on inclusive practices
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of interventions

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • The National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to achieve)
  • Proven experience working with children with SEND
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • A genuine passion for inclusion and pupil progress
