Are you a passionate English Teacher looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people with additional needs? Veritas Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient SEN English Teacher to join a specialist setting in Richmond, supporting students with a range of complex learning needs. The Role

  • Delivering English lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with Special Educational Needs, including SEMH, Autism, and learning difficulties.
  • Planning and delivering differentiated English lessons across KS3–KS4.
  • Supporting students working below age‑related expectations, including Entry Level and functional skills.
  • Developing students’ literacy, communication, and reading confidence.
  • Managing behaviour using calm, consistent and trauma‑informed approaches.
  • Tracking student progress and contributing to EHCP targets and reviews.
  • Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and wider support teams.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience teaching English within SEN, SEMH or alternative provision settings.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a nurturing, patient approach.
  • The ability to adapt lessons to meet diverse and complex learning needs.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing.
  • Experience delivering functional skills or entry‑level English (desirable).
