Are you a resilient and inspiring teacher with a passion for supporting students who need it most? We are working with a vibrant, diverse 11–16 secondary school in Middlesbrough seeking to appoint a Behaviour Specialist / SEMH Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis from September (or sooner), with the opportunity to secure a permanent position for the right candidate. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a genuine impact on students who may be disengaged from learning or facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges.

You will:

  • Deliver engaging lessons that reignite motivation and build confidence
  • Work with a mix of smaller intervention groups and full class settings
  • Use strong behaviour management strategies to create a calm and purposeful learning environment
  • Support pupils to re‑engage with education and achieve meaningful progress
  • Play a key role in the school’s pastoral and behaviour support systems

We are keen to hear from teachers who:

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification)
  • Have experience working with SEMH, challenging behaviour or disengaged learners
  • Are confident, consistent, and capable of leading strong behaviour management
  • Can build positive, trusting relationships with students
