A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Preston is seeking an experienced and passionate SEND Teacher to join their dedicated team from September 2026. This is a full-time role within the school’s specialist provision, supporting pupils from EYFS to Year 2 who present with a range of additional needs, with a significant focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The successful candidate will lead tailored teaching and interventions, ensuring all learners are supported, challenged, and celebrated.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, deliver and assess high-quality, individualised teaching for pupils with SEND, primarily ASD.
- Create a safe, stimulating and nurturing classroom environment that promotes engagement and learning.
- Work closely with support staff, external agencies, and families to ensure consistent and effective provision.
- Contribute to EHCP reviews and maintain detailed records of progress and support strategies.
- Foster positive relationships and encourage independence, communication, and social development.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching in a primary setting, ideally across EYFS to KS1.
- A strong background in supporting pupils with SEND, particularly those with ASD.
- Excellent knowledge of adaptive teaching strategies and early childhood development.
- A nurturing, flexible approach and the ability to work as part of a collaborative, supportive team.
