A welcoming and ambitious secondary school in the town of Maidstone is seeking a committed and versatile Humanities Teacher to join their team from September. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to teach across Religious Education, Sociology, and History within a supportive Humanities faculty. The role is initially offered on a temporary basis from September to Christmas, with a strong possibility of extension into 2027 for the right candidate.
The successful applicant will deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons that encourage students to think critically about society, belief systems, and historical events, while promoting academic progress and a love of Humanities subjects.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons across RE, Sociology, and History
- Teach engaging content across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable depending on experience)
- Develop students’ analytical, evaluative, and written communication skills
- Assess, track, and report on student progress in line with school policies
- Contribute to curriculum planning and development within the Humanities department
- Create an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that supports all learners
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Strong subject knowledge across Humanities disciplines (RE, Sociology, and History)
- Experience teaching in a secondary school setting (ECTs are welcome to apply)
- The ability to inspire curiosity and critical thinking in students
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills
