- Food Technology Teacher for a welcoming secondary school in
Dewsbury .
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students and develop their practical cooking skills, nutritional knowledge, and understanding of food science within a supportive school environment.
This position is offered on a
0.8 FTE basis (4 days per week) and is suitable for both experienced teachers and ambitious ECTs.
The Role
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging students to develop confidence, creativity, and essential life skills through practical and theoretical learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student achievement.
- Assess, monitor and report on student progress.
- Maintain high standards of classroom management and behaviour.
- Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times within practical lessons.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and department.
- The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Food Technology in a secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for food education.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- The ability to motivate and inspire students of varying abilities.
