We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (SEN) to support pupils aged 5–19 with a range of special educational needs, including SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties) and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties), alongside associated social, emotional, and learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people and supporting pupils with complex needs to thrive within a specialist SEN school setting.

Learning Support Assistant (SEN) Role:

  • Supporting pupils with a range of SEN, including SLD, PMLD, SEMH, and additional learning needs
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual learning and care needs
  • Assisting with personalised learning programmes, care plans, and sensory-based activities
  • Supporting communication, engagement, emotional regulation, and independence
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to create a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Building positive and trusting relationships that promote confidence, wellbeing, and personal development

A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with complex learning needs is essential. A patient, resilient, and proactive approach is required. Experience supporting pupils with SLD and/or PMLD is desirable but not essential. Experience with personal care, manual handling, or sensory support is preferred. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are necessary. Previous experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults is desirable. This role is ideal for aspiring SEN Teachers, Educational Psychologists, Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, or Health & Social Care professionals.
