Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs? Veritas Education are working closely with a specialist SEN school who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a secondary-aged class with a range of additional needs.
About the Role
- Supporting students aged 11–16 with needs such as Autism (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Speech & Language needs, and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support.
- Assisting the class teacher with planning and delivering engaging, differentiated activities.
- Helping pupils regulate emotions and develop positive social skills.
- Using de-escalation strategies and behaviour support techniques.
- Supporting personal care where required.
- Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment for all learners.
What We’re Looking For
- A minimum of a Level 2 TA qualification (or above) is desired but not essential.
- Experience working with SEN pupils (school, care or youth work backgrounds welcome).
- A calm, patient and empathetic approach.
- Strong behaviour management or a willingness to learn.
- A genuine commitment to helping young people thrive.
- The ability to build trusting, supportive relationships with students.
