Veritas Education are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across a number of secondary schools in Carlisle from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, sports coaches, youth workers, teaching assistants, or individuals with experience working with young people who are looking to gain valuable classroom experience.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain on task and complete the work that has been set. No planning or marking is required.
The Role:
- Full-time and part-time opportunities available
- September 2026 start
- Daily supply and long-term placements
- Deliver pre-set work to students across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
- Gain experience across a variety of subjects and schools
The Ideal Candidate:
- Confident, resilient and able to engage with young people
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Degree educated is advantageous but not essential
- Passionate about education and supporting student progress
- Able to obtain an enhanced DBS (or hold one on the update service)
