Veritas Education are exclusively recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Burnley area seeking to appoint an experienced, nurturing and reflective Inclusion Teacher from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and develop an expanding specialist provision designed to support pupils who are currently unable to access full-time mainstream education.

The successful candidate will work across small groups of children with a range of additional and complex needs, including communication and sensory needs, helping pupils to re‑engage with learning and make meaningful academic, social and emotional progress. The school is looking for a passionate practitioner who can create calm, structured and engaging learning environments while maintaining high expectations for every child.

The Role

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning to small groups of pupils with SEND
  • Adapt and personalise learning to meet individual needs
  • Help develop and shape an inclusive learning environment and curriculum
  • Work collaboratively with support staff to maximise pupil outcomes
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, confidence and engagement
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies to create positive learning experiences
  • Foster strong communication with parents, carers and external professionals
  • Lead with warmth, professionalism and high expectations

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A minimum of three years’ successful teaching experience
  • Experience working with children with SEND
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS and National Curriculum
  • Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to deliver creative, engaging and inclusive learning experiences
  • A reflective approach to teaching and professional development
  • Experience adapting curriculum provision to meet complex learning needs
  • Knowledge of SEND-based curricula such as Equals (desirable)
