Veritas Education are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to support students within secondary schools across the Kirklees area. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional guidance to access learning effectively.
You will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support students both inside and outside the classroom, helping to promote positive behaviour, engagement, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with behavioural needs
- Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
- Build positive, professional relationships with pupils to support engagement
- Support students in managing emotions and developing social skills
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and safeguarding leads
- Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour
- Previous experience working with young people in an educational or support setting
- A calm, patient and proactive approach to behaviour management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to build trust and rapport with students
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures (training can be provided)
