Veritas Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Assistant to work full-time on a long-term temporary basis. You will play a key role in supporting students with autism in both classroom and wider school settings. For the right candidate, there is clear scope for this position to become permanent, allowing you to build a long-term career within a highly supportive and forward-thinking school.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to learners with autism
  • Assist with the delivery of tailored learning plans
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and SEN professionals
We are ideally looking for candidates who:
  • Have experience working within SEN provision or with children/young people with additional needs
  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
  • Can build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Are resilient, proactive, and adaptable
Requirements:
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one – we can support with this)
  • Commitment to a full-time, long-term role
