About the
Role: We are looking for an experienced and people-focused HR Manager to join our Human Resources team in Newcastle.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded HR professional who enjoys partnering with a diverse workforce and influencing business leaders to drive positive people outcomes.
As the most senior HR presence in our Newcastle office, you will play a pivotal role in supporting both our Head Office functions including Operations, Customer Marketing, Finance, and Marketing and our frontline call centre teams.
You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, helping to deliver strategic people initiatives while ensuring excellent day-to-day HR support across the business.
Reporting to the HR Director UK & Ireland, you will lead a small HR team locally, providing guidance across HR operations, employee relations, and recruitment activities.
You will also directly manage two junior HR Business Partners and partner closely with the Operations Director and Customer Marketing Director to deliver impactful people solutions.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Business Partnering Build strong, trusted relationships with leaders and managers across Head Office and contact centre functions.
Provide commercially focused HR advice that supports business objectives and operational needs.
Partner with stakeholders to develop and implement people strategies that drive engagement, performance, and organisational success.
Support programmes focused on employee engagement, wellbeing, performance management, and leadership development.
Provide insight and feedback on the effectiveness of HR initiatives to support continuous improvement Developing People Leaders Coach and support managers to build confidence and capability in people management.
Deliver tailored guidance and training to both new and experienced managers.
Promote proactive management practices and early intervention to address people challenges.
Employee Relations; Lead and support a broad range of employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, capability, and absence cases.
Work closely with specialist HR teams to ensure compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
Support managers in achieving fair, consistent, and practical outcomes.
Talent, Engagement & Retention: Drive initiatives that support employee engagement, retention, and career development.
Contribute to workforce planning, succession planning, and internal mobility programmes.
Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across all supported business areas.
Data & Insights Analyse key people metrics, including attrition, absence, and employee relations trends.
Use data-driven insights to identify opportunities and support decision-making.
About You We're looking for a confident and adaptable HR professional who can operate strategically while remaining hands-on when required.
Proven experience in a senior HR Generalist or HR Business Partner role within a fast-paced environment.
Experience supporting both professional services/head office functions and operational or frontline teams.
Strong knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations best practice.
Comfortable balancing strategic priorities with operational HR responsibilities.
Previous people management experience.
Desirable Experience Experience supporting contact centre, customer service, or frontline operational environments.
You'll work closely with senior leaders, shape the employee experience across diverse teams, and play a key role in delivering our people strategy while developing your own leadership career within HR.
