Overview

This role is responsible for leading ongoing client engagements, providing expert technical and business consultancy on the effective use of VSBS Products and Solutions.

It will require partnering with clients to understand and document requirements, bring clarity to the solution view, whilst leveraging understanding of product-specific processes, constraints, and strategic direction.

The Product Consultant II will be associated with a specific Solution Group, however there will be a focus on delivering successful adoption by the client of the complete VSBS products they have purchased so a general understanding of other VSBS products will be required.

This role will lead sustained client engagements, acting as a trusted advisor to guide solution usage, optimisation, and long-term adoption, with a strong focus on reviewing client application usage and business processes to identify optimisation opportunities and drive continuous improvement.

The role will focus on complex, high-value client environments, including optimisation initiatives, business process improvement, and advanced solution consultancy.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the analysis of client business processes, functions, and procedures to determine the most effective solutions to meet the needs of the client.
  • Create, maintain, and continually evaluate the client’s business process against the VSBS solutions and how they can be utilised to support their processes and key challenges
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing ongoing technical and business consultancy aligned to their strategic objectives.
  • Build deep understanding of client operations to proactively recommend improvements and best practice approaches.
  • Creates documentation including requirements, acceptance criteria, feature description, and process flows.
  • Leading business process design and requirements gathering meetings.
  • Support the implementation of business configuration changes using existing processes and tools
  • Providing support to analysts within the Solution Group in building a joint understanding of the requirements across the other stakeholders and support them in establishing user stories and acceptance criteria based on business requirements.
  • Liaising with Product, Programme, Project, and Account Management around planning, escalations, and problem resolution.
  • Support and mentor colleagues within the business.

  • Able to influence, lead and deliver business analysis of client implementations
  • Challenge and shape client requirements where needed, ensuring alignment with best practice and product strategy.
  • Create productive relationships across VSBS teams.
  • Commercial awareness
  • Guide client priorities and expectations, balancing immediate needs with long-term solution value.
  • Identify and highlight scope deviation and support appropriate change control processes.
  • Apply strong commercial awareness when advising clients, ensuring recommendations align to both client objectives and broader business goals.
  • Process leadership and optimisation
  • Lead the way in following VSBS consultancy processes, whilst identifying and building the case for ongoing improvements.
  • Continuous Improvement & Insight
  • Provide structured insight from ongoing client engagements to inform product development, solution strategy, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify recurring themes, gaps, and enhancement opportunities across clients and feed these into the broader organisation.
  • Team engagement
  • Be a role model in terms of engagement, bringing together the right stakeholders and assets at the right time to maximum effect, benefiting both VSBS and our clients.
  • Work with the Solution Groups to provide input from client implementation experiences to influence and support strategic direction aligned with the needs of our clients.
  • Deliver internal and external training.
  • Contribute to pre-sales and client discussions where specialist product or domain expertise is required.

Qualifications

This role is optimally suited to a candidate who has a deep understanding of Sequel and its products, with a passion for the customer experience.

Alternatively, diverse and in-depth market knowledge, with similar programme/solution analysis experience gained in vendor/consultancy organisations.

  • Value and enjoy the diversity afforded by working across multiple products and multiple client projects in parallel.
  • Be able to demonstrate successful delivery in a matrix organisation model.
