Senior Pricing Solutions Actuary in London

Role Purpose Design, document, and deliver Sequel Rulebook solutions to clients, scope, budget, and deliver on time and to optimal quality standards. Provide thought leadership to the Rulebook team and influence the direction of client delivery. Support the Director of Pricing solutions with achieving strategic targets.
Responsibilities Client Delivery (external perspective) Consult with clients to analyse needs, translating into business and functional requirements and user stories via structured workshops, 121 interviews, group meetings, or informal discussions.
Develop technical designs and solutions for Rulebook platform and product implementations, ensuring best practice at all times.
Work with clients to optimise benefit realisation and cost management.
Support clients\’ wider project, programme and portfolio delivery, informing business case development, blueprint design, process mapping, and user acceptance testing support.
Support pre‐sales proof of concept and demo work, communicating Rulebook features and benefits to existing and new clients.
Attend client pre‐sales sessions to provide technical and business subject matter expertise, contributing to the business case proposal for the engagement.
Support account management activity to develop and maintain the credible profile of Rulebook and Sequel.
Develop a climate of trust and integrity, building professional credibility and strong relationships with clients and their management and project teams.
Manage challenges and conflicts with absolute professionalism.

Technical Delivery (internal perspective) Translate client business and functional needs into Rulebook solutions.
Develop and deploy appropriate software development methodologies, in line with best practice from pre‐analysis to post‐implementation review and continuous improvement.
Prepare for client engagements, including workshop planning, resource planning, and team briefing.
Inform the creation of project Statements of Works with pre‐sales, account management, project managers, and the Head of Delivery.
Work with pre‐sales, account management, and project teams to inform credible and accurate project estimates.
Produce, manage, review, and assure project documentation and products, through drafting and internal reviews, to client approval, testing, and approval.
Maintain continuous improvement during engagements.
Interface with core Rulebook and Sequel product teams to inform product roadmap lifecycle development.

Team Management Lead the team of Product SMEs to identify the strategic direction of configuration and seek ways to improve client delivery.
Lead and support a Rulebook configuration team, resolving any problems and maintaining morale with integrity.
Perform performance management of team members, including regular reviews, objective setting, feedback, and technical training.
Allocate and manage work‐packages across the team to optimise efficiency and effectiveness.
Chair team meetings and internal solution development meetings, maintaining accurate logs of output to continually improve team capability and performance.
Any other duties commensurate to the grade of the role.

Essential Qualifications Degree level or equivalent.
Insurance industry experience.
Proven track record of gathering and analysing client requirements and developing specifications.
Experience working in a software development lifecycle using waterfall, agile, etc.
Highly literate and numerate.
Desirable Specific London Market insurance domain knowledge is advantageous.
Experience working within the insurance market in an underwriting/actuarial role.
A degree education in an IT discipline may be helpful, but is not essential.
Exposure to actuarial and pricing functions and models.
Knowledge of development toolsets, e.g. ASP.net.
