Verisk is a leader in the catastrophe modelling space and is looking for a highly passionate, motivated individual to join the Consulting and Client Services Group supporting the Model Exchange platform. Model Exchange is an open ecosystem catastrophe modeling software that gives insurers and (re)insurers unique risk insights to address the global insurance protection gap.

We’re looking for a strong graduate with an analytical degree to join our Risk team as a Graduate Risk Support Analyst. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a quantitative mindset who wants to apply their academic skills in a real-world, customer‑facing environment. In this role, you’ll support the Verisk Model Exchange Platform, working closely with internal teams, model developers, and external customers. Over time, the role is designed to develop into a Business Analyst position, offering clear progression and exposure to both technical and commercial aspects of catastrophe risk modelling.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the day‑to‑day operation of the Verisk Model Exchange Platform
  • Act as the client environment and business subject matter expert for Model Exchange to troubleshoot daily issues
  • Provide first line support to customers, troubleshooting, logging and assigning issues in Salesforce
  • Understand model vendors' catastrophe models and outputs
  • Assisting with onboarding, testing, and validation of risk and catastrophe models
  • Working closely with customers to understand requirements, investigate issues, and provide analytical support
  • Analysing datasets and model outputs to support risk assessment and decision‑making
  • Collaborating with technical, product, and analytics teams to improve platform functionality
  • Documenting processes, findings, and model behaviour in a clear, structured way
  • Gradually taking on more business analysis responsibilities as you develop in the role
  • Develop catastrophe modelling expertise

Qualifications

  • A strong analytical or quantitative degree (e.g. actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, data science, engineering, economics, or similar)
  • Solid grounding in skills developed during your degree such as:
  • Data modelling
  • Risk assessment and analysis
  • Statistical or quantitative methods
  • Technical skills or exposure to:
    • Python
    • SQL
    • Excel (comfortable with formulas, analysis, and data handling)
  • A logical, problem‑solving mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills and confidence working with customers and stakeholders
  • A genuine interest in risk, analytics, and developing into a business‑facing analyst role
