This role is based in London/Hybrid (with occasional travel) at Verisk - Extreme Event Solutions (formerly AIR Worldwide). Extreme Event Solutions at Verisk is a leader in the liability catastrophe modelling space. We are seeking a highly passionate and motivated individual to join our Casualty Catastrophe Modeling Consulting and Client Services Group (CCSG). As a key member of the leadership team, you will help our insurance and reinsurance clients quantify and mitigate risks associated with casualty/liability catastrophes through exceptional consultancy and support services, powered by the Arium casualty catastrophe model.
This is a leadership role with management responsibility for teams delivering client support, data services, and consulting projects. You will act as the voice of the customer, shaping the strategic direction of the Arium product and leading all aspects of account management. Your technical, analytical, and project management skills will ensure your team enhances client experience and increases market adoption of the Arium platform. You will work closely with leaders across modelling, software development, and product teams, managing team members based in Hyderabad, London, and the US.
Purpose of the RoleLead the CCSG team to deliver high-quality projects, analytics, and technical support to clients and prospects. Oversee the data services team responsible for client data cleansing and augmentation, product testing, and database management. Champion market development through conference participation, educational activities, and developing a professional certification track for casualty catastrophe modelling.
Key Responsibilities- Manage team leaders across Data Services and CCSG units in Hyderabad, London, and the US (some out-of-hours work may be required).
- Maintain overall responsibility for client relationships, with operational tasks delegated to team members.
- Drive continuous improvement of client data workflows and augmentation processes.
- Support product development through roadmap planning and release testing involvement.
- Develop a managed services offering for clients with limited in-house resources for Arium.
- Provide project management oversight for consultancy work with (re)insurers, brokers, and other financial intermediaries.
- Deliver training for client staff on using the Arium model.
- Stay informed on emerging risks and developments in casualty catastrophe risk management.
- Participate in industry conferences, market presentations, and software demonstrations.
Skills and Experience
- 10+ years in the insurance industry, with at least 5+ years in catastrophe modeling or a related field.
- Strong consulting or client services/account management background.
- Proven leadership and team management experience with the ability to inspire and develop others.
- In-depth knowledge of the insurance and reinsurance markets.
- A problem-solving mindset with a strong commitment to excellent client service.
- Strong analytical skills with a solid grasp of probability concepts.
- Subject matter expertise in catastrophe modelling, preferably with hands-on experience using Arium.
- While coding knowledge (e.g. Python, APIs) is not required, an understanding of these concepts is beneficial for leading technically skilled team members.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including confidence presenting to large audiences.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Education and Qualifications
A degree is required, ideally in insurance, mathematics, actuarial science, computer science, or business.
