We are looking for an enthusiastic Finance Assistant to provide maternity cover for our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone newly qualified who is eager to build on their current skills and add to their business knowledge. Training and support will be given to take on a variety of tasks, starting with accounts receivable activities (invoicing, credit control, reconciliations) and gradually building skills across other areas of finance. This role is ideal for someone recently qualified in ACCA or CIMA, and who has hands-on experience in day-to-day finance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist with customer invoicing, account reconciliations, and chasing outstanding payments
- Support the maintenance of accurate financial records and documentation
- Help resolve invoice queries by liaising with customers and internal teams
- Support the team with the monthly revenue recognition and reporting
- Assist the finance team during month-end tasks and audits
- Have a basic proficiency in finance systems (such as Xero, Oracle) and a working proficiency on Excel
- Carry out general finance administration and ad-hoc tasks as needed
Qualifications
- A genuine interest in continuing a career in finance
- Good attention to detail and a willingness to learn new processes
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Organised and able to manage time effectively
- Proactive, with the confidence to ask questions and seek support when needed
Desirable
- Recently qualified either ACCA or CIMA
- Prior exposure to month-end deadlines and reporting, and audit requirements
